This is Austin.

Just needs some love and food and a good grooming. The dogs owner has cancer. The guy “watching” the dog is giving him to the owners uncle tomorrow. and his Uncle may put him down. :(

:( please don’t let him die. If you want information about this lovely dog, please contact Alana.

Today from my balcony I saw a dog running down the sidewalk on Cahuenga Blvd. I recently saw a flyer taped to a pole outside my building about a missing dog, so I ran out after the little guy and called the number on the flyer.

I brought him some food and water and called the number on his tags but it was disconnected. Not sure of what to do, I was hanging out with him thinking of a plan. I asked a guy standing by his car if he knew who lived in the yard the dog ran into. He said he did. I asked if he knew anything about the dog. He said he was “foster” watching it. Yeah, great job buddy.

I told him about how I found the dog running down Cahuenga (the 101 fwy is RIGHT there, so unsafe!). I guess the dog got out somehow. The guy said the dog belonged to a woman who has cancer. He had been temporarily watching the dog for the past month. Tomorrow, the woman’s uncle is picking up Austin, and the guy showed me texts from this man saying he might have to take the dog to the pound or have him put down. And really, taking this dog to the pound would be the same as putting him down.

The dog is a bit underweight and needs some TLC but that’s about it. Consistency and a good grooming. He is VERY SWEET. If I didn’t already have a dog and live in a 1br I would take him myself, even temporarily. I exchanged information with this guy and got the contact info of the uncle, and told them I want to help. There is NO REASON for this dog to be put down.

If any of you can help in ANY way, please contact me: me@alanajoy.com. Even if it’s just a good temporary place until we can find him a permanent home. I don’t approve of the conditions he is currently being kept in and I don’t like the sound of where he’s going and what they might do.

I brought him food while I was trying to figure out what to do and he inhaled it. I don’t think the guy has been feeding him properly.

Seriously guys, PLEASE help Austin. I do NOT want this dog to die.

A man was spotted holding the paw of his dog as the pair crossed a busy road in Nanning, capital of southern China’s Guangxi Province. As they approached the road the dog was walking on all fours but when its owner paused at the kerb it stood up on its back legs and offered its paw.
